New Show: Whodunnit?

Hey guys! So I know this is a polymer clay blog and talking about a new show probably seems pretty off-topic...yeah, it does, but I am going to write about it anyway :)

I started watching this show last night (you can watch all the episodes so far in www.abc.com, but do it quickly because they do expire at some point!) and my family and I talked about it for a good 30 minutes afterwards.

It is a very unique show and I think that is what drew me to wanting to watch it. Now, before I even start I just wanted to say that it is not a perfect show by any means and my family and I spent a good time trying to figure out exactly how some things worked, like examining the victim that is still alive but is supposed to be dead....yeah it's kind of weird.

But, I still thoroughly enjoyed trying to solve the murder right alongside the contestants. The basis of the show is that 13 guests arrived at the manor and are in competition for half a million dollars. Each day one of them is murdered. After the murder the contestants can choose to go to one of the following places: the crime scenes, the last known whereabouts or the morgue. The contestants all split off to go to their desired location where they have 30 minutes to investigate. Afterwards, they are allowed to talk to the other contestants and share what they found, or maybe even some things they didn't find...Next, the murderer leaves a clue to the contestants that they have to try and figure out for another clue. Finally, the contestants state their cases, what they believed happened, and who the murderer was.

In the end, whoever was the farthest away from what happened is the next victim and then everything repeats again. Oh, and did I mention the murderer is among them?

I have high hopes for this show and hopefully it will continue to entertain. I am confused about a couple of things but hopefully they will be answered soon. I think this show is a great summer show because it is easy to watch and entertaining. I recommend at least giving it a try!

Do you have any recommendations for a great summer show? Leave it in a comment below!

Thanks for reading my blog :)

I am back!

Whew! It has been a crazy past year...yeah, a whole year since my last post, but I am happy to announce that I am entering back into the blogging world and back into the etsy/small business world!

For any of you that have stayed with me I send you my most grateful hugs and kisses :) This week I am going to try and follow up on all the comments I have gotten and post  a quick tutorial (maybe?)  or  something clay related.

Also, I am going to try to renovate my little haven on etsy and maybe even start up a website off of etsy to sell my jewelry. You never know what could happen!

Again, I am so happy to be back and thanks for hanging on to me and hopefully I can get back to posting more often.

Have an awesome Friday and weekend! :D

Here Comes Irene!

Well folks its about that time, we are supposed to begin getting hit by Irene at 5pm this afternoon. With the hardest part of the hurricane coming at around 1-3 am. All I know it that I will be sleeping in the basement tonight and won't come out until I know it is over.

I don't think we are going to have terrible damage, but they are saying high winds (and we are basically living in a forest :D) and rain but we aren't that close to the eye so hopefully the storm won't affect us to much.

Around my area we have already been notified that there will be wide-spread power outages and it could take 24 hours for our power company to even get out and assess the damage. 24 hours!! What could they possibly be doing for those 24 hours??

Well, it is already starting to pour down rain and wind is starting to pick up so to the basement I go!!

Wish me luck and I hope everyone else stays dry as well :) Thanks for reading my blog!

Meet Your Newest Sampler Villager!

And if you couldn't guess, I was meaning me. That's right I am so excited to announce that I will be a part of the awesome Nov/Dec box from Sampler Villager.

Check them out and pick up a box because they are absolutely amazing. I just received a box from her and I can't wait to try out all the fantastic goodies (20 in total!!). There is everything from soaps, soy tarts, eye shadow to cupcake topper and a cute dog bow (which my dog wasn't to happy about wearing :() Their next box comes out Sept. 21, I believe, so be prepared to place your order :D

I am planning on sending in ring samples and I was thinking eitheir cookies with red and green M&M's or donuts with red and green sprinkles. Also possibly a present cut in half so it lies pretty flat on the ring. Which one do you guys think you would most want to recieve?

Thanks so much for reading my blog!

Reviews to Come! Yay!

I have been slacking on my reviews :( I always love reading review on shops and products so I am going to start making them a regular on my blog. For just a general overview, most of my reviews will be on jewelry and bath/body products with some stragglers here and there :D.They will be a mix of Etsy stores and commercial stores. Hopefully you guys like reading reviews as well. Let me know in the comments what type of things you would want to know about the products, things like: shipping, packaging, quality, what else?
(Please note: I don't think I have most of these items, if any, so please don't expect reviews on them :D)

Can't wait to flood this blog with reviews! Thanks so much for reading and check back soon!

Expedition Impossible

At the current moment, as I am writing this post, I am watching one of the newest shows I have found: Expedition Impossible. Its airs on ABC, Thursdays at 10/9c but I just watch it on Verizon Fios on Demand so I don't feel like I have to catch it every week. If anyone has seen The Amazing Race it is a lot like that but with a lot more extreme challenges. If you haven't seen it check it out!!
As well, I am so excited to have some new products lined up. All I have to do is take pictures of them. I have just taken a break cause sometimes taking photos just frustrates me so much sometimes :( I am not sure if I am the only one but the pictures I take never seem to turn out exactly how I want them. I just need to take a break and I will get back to that fun tomorrow :D

I hope everyone is staying cool and having a fantastic summer! Do you guys have any fun plans for summer or for your shop this summer?

Thanks so much for reading, I appreciate every single one of you!

Long time no talk!

Wowza have I been neglecting this blog. I had logged on since I thought it had been a bit since I last blogged. Little did I know that my last blog post was on April 24! As well, now thinking back I don't know why I haven't been blogging more often. I guess I never really had anything that I thought was important to say...

I have been fairly busy with polymer clay and just life in general. I recently got some of my first custom orders and have been spending time on those. In addition I have been creating some new pieces to add to my shop as I am hoping to get up to 50 items by July or August (but we will see how that turns out).

I am also very excited to announce that I just recently made my 15th sale!!! I was hoping to do some sort of giveaway so stay tuned for that. I just need to get organized and make a piece to giveaway so hopefully it will happen fairly soon.

Hopefully some of the next posts that I write will be a little more interesting than this post was...reading it back over all I am doing is talking about myself. But seeing that it has been awhile since the last one I thought I would catch you guys up.

Thanks so much for reading!!!

What I am Watching Right Now

Are you like me? Overwhelmed with all the options there are of what to watch everyday? Lots of options are good but sometimes I just feel like I am missing one of those really great shows. But for now I though I would tell you guys about some of the shows I am enjoying right now.

1) Castle- A crime solving, humorous show that always has a twist that you aren't expecting.

2) Celebrity Apprentice- Even though it is two hours, it just gets you hooked!

3) Off the Map- It is a doctor show, but it takes place on an island and has unique diseases and problems in the hospital.

4) American Idol- Finally a season where it seems pretty much everyone single person is talented and Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez brought the show alive.

5) Survivor- I have been a long time Survivor fan and I am really enjoying this season where they have introduced Redemption Island (so someone could possibly come back into the game)

6) The Amazing Race- I have traveled a lot and this show is just very enjoyable to watch.

7) The Big Bang Theory- I have just started watching this show, but everyone needs to at least try it, its hilarious!

8) The Next Great Restaurant- Just discovered this on demand, they are basically trying to find the next casual-dining restaurant (like Chipotle).

Now for a show that I watch every single day and am in love with:
9) The Ellen Show- Hosted by Ellen Degeneres, so much fun to watch and really brightens my day.

Hope this helped you guys to find some new shows to check out, thanks for reading! Now I have a question for you:

What are some of your favorite shows?

The First Day of Spring

It's the first full day of Spring and I couldn't be more excited that it's finally here!! Although our day here started off with thunderstorms and hard rain, but it has cleared up and the day has turned out to be not a bad day. We are expecting more rain this week, but clearer warmer weather is on the way finally.

Pray for Japan

As most of you probably know Japan was hit by both an earthquake and tsunami this past week and is currently devastated. I just wanted to take some time and ask for everyone to pray for Japan, and if you can donate some of your hard-earned cash to aid those who have been ripped from their homes, family and friends. I have also noticed on esty that many sellers are listing items and will be donating some or all of the profit to help Japan.

Check out this treasury that was featured on the front page for a few of the items: http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d80b07d37528eef35d51d6e/help-japan-3?ref=fp_treasury_curator

My prayers go out to everyone and Japan and anyone who was affected by this horrible disaster.

It's almost time for gardening!!

I have to say that I am very excited about the fact that it is starting to warm up and about to be time that I can start gardening. This is actually my first year growing a full size garden (last year I just had pots). I already started some of the seeds indoors, although none of them have sprouted yet, I think I might just have to wait and plant the seeds directly into the ground. Hopefully having a garden won't create more stress in my life, I'm hoping it will relieve it but we'll see.

In other news, I have two brand new items in my store: St.Patricks Day Cake and Ice Cream Sandwich (as well tomorrow I will be listing Pumpkin Pie Earrings again.) Please check them out:

What's new?

It's sad to say but my streak of listing an item a day is over. Now its back to making some new items, yay!! What am I planning on making? Well right now I have a few ideas including St. Patrick's Day Cake (I was going to make the cake part green), ice cream sandwich, cherry cheesecake, fortune cookies and hopefully a ton more things so keep you eyes posted for them.

As well, I continue my series of Etsy Artisan features tomorrow with a super-yummy shop (*hint hint*) so please come back and check her shop out!

Now this is probably kind of random, but am I the only one excited about American Idol tonight? I can't wait to see the girls (??) sing tonight. They have such great talent this year and I am so excited.

This was a pretty boring post now that I look at it, but ETSY ARTISAN FEATURE TOMORROW!!!

Thanks for checking out my blog :D Leave me a comment with your blog because I always love finding new and exciting blogs.

Such Crazy Weather!!

Wow has the weather here been crazy! Just last Friday it was 70 F and everyone was wearing shorts and walking around in flip-flops. Today is was in the 30's and last night we were supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow. But knowing the weathermen and their accuracy, we ended up getting just about 1/4". Still though, going from being in the 70's to dropping all the way to the teens tonight is driving my bod crazy. It also makes it hard to figure out what to wear in the morning :D I hope everyone is having a great day, and that your weather is less crazy than here!

I have only worked with it for about a year and half but I love it so much. I just recently opened a etsy shop, please check out my work at http://www.etsy.com/shop/CreationsbyColette. Right now I am mainly focused on miniature food jewelry. I am hoping to help you guys out with starting in food jewelry and also keep you up to date with my creations!
